The New Yorker
Insight
Millennials don't think that a mainstream magazine can value local voices, ideas, and art like they do.
Idea
Create interactive ways to demonstrate how The New Yorker is entwined in New York arts and culture.
Captions For Humanity
Through smart humour and creativity, the game mimics a big part of New York culture.
Basic Rules
Captions For Humanity is a party game that puts you in the New York state of mind.
Each round, one player presents a cartoon from a White Card, and the other players caption it with their funniest –– or most poignant –– Black Card.
Spotify Enhancement
Music allows readers to immerse in our content and better appreciate its artistic significance.
Experiential Content
Weekly Spotify playlists are made to accompany each article from start to finish. The playlist is embedded in the article, so readers can easily click the Spotify icon and start listening.
IRL Clickbait
Outdoor ads...sort of.
Verbatim From The New Yorker
From each issue, excerpts are taken out of context and placed on common New York items, making readers hungry for the full story.
Archive Map
We partnered with V for Wiki so New Yorkers could discover the culture that surrounds them.
You Are Here: Use the map to discover local culture through articles that have been written about your current location (or any other in New York).
